Departing Preakness Stakes Odds
BALTIMORE, MD (The Spread) - One contender that could challenge Orb this weekend at the 2013 Preakness Stakes is Departing.
According to oddsmakers from online sports book Bovada.lv, Orb is 7/5 to win the Preakness Stakes but Departing has the next best odds at 7/2. Goldencents is currently 7/1, Itsmyluckyday is 9/1 and Mylute and Will Take Charge are both 12/1, respectively. Vyjack is 15/1, Governor Charlie and Oxbow are 20/1, respectively, and Titletown Five is 30/1.
Departing didn't run in the Kentucky Derby two weeks ago but he has an impressive resume. He's finished first in four of his five career races including at a MSW on December 22 and an Allowance on February 1. He also won the Texas Heritage on March 2 and the Grade 3 Illinois Derby on April 20. The only race he didn't win was the Grade II Louisiana Derby when he finished second behind Revolutionary and Mylute.
Adele B. Dilschneider owns Departing and Albert M. Stall Jr. is his trainer. He was bred in Kentucky and his pedigree is War Front and Leave by Pulpit.
The 2013 Preakness Stakes will take place on Saturday, May 18 at 6:24PM ET, which is the post time. The race will take place at the Pimlico Race Course in Baltimore, Maryland.
