Pablo Del Monte Preakness Odds
BALTIMORE, MD (The Spread) – After being pulled out of the Kentucky Derby two weeks ago, Pablo Del Monte will get a crack at the 2014 Preakness Stakes this weekend.
According to oddsmakers from online sports book BetDSI, Pablo Del Monte is currently 24/1 to win Saturday’s Preakness Stakes, which gives him the second-worst odds among the current field. Only Ria Antonia has worst odds, as she is currently listed at 32/1.
California Chrome remains the current favorite to win Saturday’s Preakness Stakes at 5/9 odds, while Social Inclusion and Danza are both 6/1, respectively. Bayern is also 10/1, while Ride On Curlin is 12/1 and Kid Cruz is 15/1. Dynamic Impact is 16/1.
Pablo Del Monte was supposed to be the final contender added to the Kentucky Derby field when Hoppertunity was scratched late in the week. But his owners decided to pull him from the field at Churchill Downs, making the event only a 19-horse race.
Pablo Del Monte finished third in the Blue Grass on April 12 and third at the Hutcheson on February 1. In his previous four career races, he finished fourth in the Gulfstream Park Derby, fifth in the Generous Stakes, and won back-to-back appearances in the MSW and Allowance.
The 2014 Preakness Stakes will take place on Saturday, May 17 at 6:20PM ET (post time).
