Saturday’s Betting Value Plays
(The Spread) – The Nuggets, Capitals and Braves all represent value on today’s betting board.
Denver Nuggets vs. Los Angeles Lakers, 10:30PM ET
The Nuggets are 4-1 against the spread in their last five games versus the Lakers and 5-2-1 ATS in their last eight games in Los Angeles. Denver is also 8-2 against the number in its last 10 games overall, 4-1 ATS in its last five games versus the Western Conference and 4-1 ATS in its last five conference quarterfinals games. The Lakers, meanwhile, are 3-12 ATS in their last 15 games as a home favorite, 1-4 ATS in their last five conference quarterfinals games and 1-4 ATS in their last five games overall.
NBA VALUE PLAY: DENVER NUGGETS +5.5
Washington Capitals vs. New York Rangers, 7:30PM ET
It’s rather obvious that this series could go either way and thus, there’s value in the underdog when a game is nearly a coin flip. The Capitals are 7-1 in their last eight Saturday games, 4-1 in their last five games playing on two days of rest and 4-1 in their last five games after scoring two goals or less in their previous outing. The Rangers, meanwhile, are 1-4 in their last five Saturday games and 4-9 in their last 13 conference semifinals games.
NHL VALUE PLAY: WASHINGTON CAPITALS +131

Atlanta Braves vs. St. Louis Cardinals, 7:15PM ET
Brandon Beachy has a 0.95 WHIP to go along with his 3-1 and 1.62 ERA over 39 innings this season. And while Adam Wainwright is starting to look like the “Wano” of old, he still hasn’t been as sharp as the Cardinals would like him to be. The Braves are 4-1 in Beachy’s last five starts and 7-1 in their last eight games versus a team with a winning record.
MLB VALUE PLAY: ATLANTA BRAVES +114
San Francisco Giants vs. Arizona Diamondbacks, 8:10PM ET
The Giants’ offense was bad with Pablo Sandoval in their lineup and now its absolutely atrocious with him on the DL. Until Sandoval and Freddy Sanchez can get San Fran back to full strength, the Giants are liable to keep scoring under three runs a game. And with Matt Cain on the hill today, the Diamondbacks won’t be scoring much either.
MLB VALUE PLAY: UNDER 8
