Oddsmakers from online sports book Bodog.com have made James Durbin a 3/2 favorite to beat out Scotty McCreery, Haley Reinhart and Lauren Alaina to become this year’s American Idol winner.
Scotty McCreery is listed right behind Durbin, however, at 8/5 to win. Reinhart is 7/2 to win, while Alaina to become American Idol’s next superstar.
A week after Casey Abrams was let go, Jacob Lusk was bounced on May 5. It was the third time he had been in the bottom 5 this season and after a few lackluster performances over the last couple of weeks, his time finally came up.
Of the four final contests, Haley Reinhart has been in the Bottom 3 the most. She has appeared there four times, while Durbin and McCreery have never spent a week in the Bottom 3. Alaina’s first taste in the Bottom 3 (the bottom 2, actually) came last week, but she was safe when Lusk was eliminated.
Now four remain for the final three weeks of the show. May 12, May 19 and May 26 will be the final weeks of American Idol Season 10, as Durbin and McCreery are expected to battle it out to become the next superstar.
