LOUISVILLE, KY (The Spread) - Orb started the day as the favorite to win the 2013 Kentucky Derby, but wasn't when the race started. That didn't stop it from getting the victory.

Orb races through a muddy track at Churchill Downs to get the victory on Saturday. The hrose made a strong run to the finish, breaking away from the rest of the pack late to make for a convincing win in a time of 2:02.89. It was the first win for trainer and Kentucky native Shug McGaughey, who was emotional after the victory.

According to oddsmakers from online sports book Bovada.lv, Orb entered the day as a 9/2 favorite to win the race. By the time the race concluced, Orb had 6/1 odds to win and was a co-favorite with Revolutionary. If you made a $100 wager on Orb this morning, its victory will pay out an additional $450. If you mad the $100 wager at the time of the race, Orb's victory will pay out $600.

The surprise of the race would be Golden Soul coming in second. Golden Soul paid out $36.80 for a place bet and $19.40 for a show bet. Revolutionary finished in third place, paying out $5.40 to show.
