Frac Daddy Kentucky Derby Odds
CHURCHILL DOWNS, KY (The Spread) - Can Frac Daddy surprise when he competes in the 2013 Kentucky Derby this weekend at Churchill Downs?
According to oddsmakers from online sports book Bovada.lv, Frac Daddy is a 33/1 long shot to win this year's Kentucky Derby, while Orb is the current favorite at 17/4. Verrazano has comparable odds at 9/2, while Revolutionary is 7/1, Normandy Invasion is 10/1, and Overanalyze is 14/1. Both Java's War and Vykack are 18/1, respectively.
Frac Daddy drew the No. 18 post position for Saturday's race on Wednesday, which has produced only one Kentucky Derby winner all time. (Although hey, at least its produced at least one winner - the No. 17 post position has never hosted a Kentucky Derby champion.)
Kenny McPeek is Frac Daddy's trainer while Victor Lebron is his jockey. McPeek's best finish at the Kentucky Derby came in 1995 with Tejano Run, who placed second. LeBron, meanwhile, has won numerous riding titles at tracks in Kentucky, Ohio and Indiana according to the Kentucky Derby website.
In his most recent start, Frac Daddy finished second at the Grade I Arkansas Derby behind Overanalyze. He also finished seventh at the Grade I Florida Derby on March 30 and sixth at the Grade III Holy Bull Stakes on January 26. In his only other graded stakes race, he placed second in the Grade II Kentucky Jockey Club on November 24.
The 2013 Kentucky Derby will take place on Saturday, May 4 at 6:24PM ET (Post Time) from Churchill Downs.
