Giant Finish Kentucky Derby Odds
CHURCHILL DOWNS, KY (The Spread) - Giant Finish is listed among the long shots to win this Saturday's Kentucky Derby from Churchill Downs.
According to oddsmakers from online sports book Bovada.lv, Giant Finish is a 50/1 long shot along with Golden Soul and Falling Sky. The three collectively have the worst odds among any contender in this year's race. Verrazano and Orb each have 4/1 odds, respectively, and are listed among the favorites.
Despite the long odds, Giant Finish has had some recent success. He placed third in the Grade III Spiral Stakes on March 23 and took second in the John Battaglia Memorial. He also won an Allowance on January 17 and finished fifth in the Damon Runyon on September 9.
Giant Finish drew the No. 7 post position, which has produced eight Kentucky Derby winners all-time. The rail and No. 5 post position have each won 12 Kentucky Derby races, while the No. 4 post has produced 11 winners. Both the No. 8 and No. 10 post positions won 10 Derbies apiece.
Tony Dutrow is Giant Finish's trainer, but as of this posting he doesn't have a jockey. The 2013 Kentucky Derby will be held on Saturday, May 4 at 6:24PM ET (Post Time).
