Overanalyze Derby Odds
CHURCHILL DOWNS, KY (The Spread) - After racing to victory at the Grade I Arkansas Derby, Overanalyze looks to be a sleeper in this year's Kentucky Derby.
According to oddsmakers from online sports book Bovada.lv, Overanalyze is 40/1 to win Saturday's Kentucky Derby, while the current favorite is Verrazano at 7/2. Orb will look to challenge for victory at 5/1, while both Goldencents and Revolutionary are 7/1, respectively. Normandy Invasion is 8/1 to win, while Itsmyluckyday is 12/1 and Java's War is 30/1.
Overanalyze punched his ticket to the Kentucky Derby with a win at the Grade I Arkansas Derby, beating out Frac Daddy and Carve (among others). He didn't fare well at the Grade III Gotham Stakes on March 2 but he won the Grade II Remsen on November 24 of last year and also took home a victory at the Grade II Futurity on September 30.
The 3-year-old colt is trained by the renowned Todd Pletcher, who won the 2010 Kentucky Derby with Super Saver. He also led all trainers in monies won with a stable of Stay Thirsty and Awesome Maria.
Meanwhile, Rafael Bejarano will be Overanalyze's jockey. He won the 2010 Kentucky Oaks aboard champion Blind Luck.
Overanalyze earned 110 points this year and claimed $356, 381 in earnings. He'll look for back-to-back wins this weekend at the Kentucky Derby, which will be held at 6:24PM ET (Post Time) from Churchill Downs on Saturday, May 4.
