Mission Impazible Odds
Mission Impazible hopes to take his strong showing at the G2 Louisiana Derby into Churchill Downs on Saturday and produce a win at the Kentucky Derby 136.
Recent History:
Mission Impazible finished first at the G2 Louisiana Derby on March 27, giving him and his team confidence heading into Saturday’s race at Churchill Downs. That said, he finished fourth in G3 Southwest on February 20 and lost to fellow Kentucky Derby contenders Conveyance and Dublin.
According to oddsmakers from online sports book Sportsbook.com, Mission Impazible is a 16/1 long shot to win the 2010 Kentucky Derby on Saturday. His odds have not changed since the post positions were drawn on Wednesday of this week.
The 3-year-old will start out of the No. 14 post position on Saturday, which has produced two Kentucky Derby winners since 1900.
Outlook:
The key to Mission Impazible finishing in the top three is for him to get a good stalking trip. He usually runs a stalking trip of about three lengths off the pace, which probably won’t cut it on Saturday. He’s also coming off a five week layoff, has run three consecutive Beyer tops and his best is only a 94. He somewhat represents a sleeper because he has the talent, but chances are he’ll finish out of the top 3 at Churchill Downs.
