Kentucky Derby Odds to Win
CHURCHILL DOWNS, KY (The Spread) - The 2013 Kentucky Derby is now less than a week away and a Todd Pletcher-trained contender is currently favored to win this Saturday.
According to oddsmakers from online sports book Bovada.lv, Verrazano is currently favored to win the 2013 Kentucky Derby at 7/2 odds, while Orb has the next best odds at 5/1. Verrazano recently won the Grade I Wood Memorial while Orb has won three races in a row, including the Grade III Fountain of Youth Stakes.
Continuing with the odds, Goldencents and Revolutionary are both 7/1, respectively, while Normandy Invasion is 8/1. Vyjack is 15/1, Governor Charlie is 18/1 and Will Take Charge, Lines of Battle and Oxbow are all 20/1, respectively. Itsmyluckyday is 12/1, Java's War is 30/1, and Overanalyze is 40/1.
The other long shots include Charming Kitten at 66/1, Falling Sky at 50/1, and Frac Daddy, MylutePalace malice, and Black Onyx at 33/1, respectively. Contender Titletown Five is 40/1.
Goldencents just won the Santa Anita Derby and is now one of the frontrunners to win the Derby, while Revolutionary ran to a first place finish in his most recent outing, the Grade III Withers Stakes at Aqueduct. Vyjack, meanwhile, recently won the Grade III Gotham Stakes to remain unbeaten at Aqueduct.
The 2013 Kentucky Derby will take place this Saturday, May 4 at 6:24PM ET (Post Time). The event will be aired on NBC and can be heard on the Horse Racing Radio Network (HRRN).
