Normandy Invasion Derby Odds
CHURCHILL DOWNS, KY (The Spread) - Normandy Invasion is coming off a rough showing in his last outing but he'll look to bounce back on Saturday when he competes at the 2013 Kentucky Derby.
According to oddsmakers from online sports book Bovada.lv, Normandy Invasion has 8/1 odds to win the 2013 Kentucky Derby after running fifth in the Grade II Risen Star Stakes. Verrazano is a 7/2 favorite to win the Kentucky Derby after recently winning the Grade I Wood Memorial and Orb is 5/1 after winning four straight races.
Normandy Invasion is trained by Chad Brown and his jockey is Javier Castellano, who rode Ghostzapper to a victory in the 2004 Breeders' Cup Classic and Bernardini in the 2006 Preakness. Other top horses of Castellano include Stay Thirsty, Hilda's Passion, Red Rocks and Telling.
Normandy Invasion finished second at the Grade I Wood Memorial behind Verrazano, but he took fifth at the Grade II Risen Star Stakes, as previously mentioned. He also took second at the Grade II Remsen behind fellow 2013 Kentucky Derby contender Overanalyze, and won at Aqueduct on November 11 of 2012.
The 2013 Kentucky Derby will take place on Saturday, May 4 from Churchill Downs.
