It’s March and we all know what that means – it’s almost March Madness time. Possibly the greatest time of the year, in fact.

The 2009 March Madness college basketball tournament is right around the corner and for your convenience, we’ve put together a guide including start times and general information.

2008 March Madness Recap:

The Big East dominated the number of bids received with eight, while the Big 12, Pac-10 and SEC all got six. Seven of the Big East teams made it o the second round, while three made it to the Sweet Sixteen and one to the Elite Eight.

The Big 12 produced five second round teams, two Sweet Sixteen finishes, one Elite Eight team and one Champion in the Kansas Jayhawks.

The Pac-10 also had a strong run, sending three teams to the second round, three to the Sweet Sixteen, one to the Elite Eight and one to the Final Four.

Conference USA only had one team make the tournament, but it went all the way to the Finals. The Memphis Tigers made an impressive run as a No. 1 seed, but eventually fell to Kansas 75-68 in the Finals.

2008 March Madness Betting Odds:

The eventual Final Four Champion Kansas Jayhawks had the best odds to win entering the tournament at +400. UCLA had the next best odds at +485, while North Carolina was +525 and Memphis was +585. Duke was +850, while Georgetown and Tennessee were established as long shots at +1150 and +1200, respectively.
