Updated Oscar Best Actor Odds
LAS VEGAS, NV (The Spread) – A look at the updated odds for Sunday’s Academy Awards reveals that Eddie Redmayne of “The Theory of Everything” is favored to win the Oscar for Best Actor.
According to oddsmakers from online sports book Bovada.lv, Redmayne is a 1/3 favorite to win for Best Actor while “Birdman’s” Michael Keaton is 2/1 and Bradley Cooper of “American Sniper” is 14/1. The two long shots to win in this category are Benedict Cumberbatch of “The Imitation Game” and Steve Carrell of “Foxcatcher,” who are both 33/1 to take home the Oscar.
This is Redmayne’s first Academy Award nomination although he did win a Golden Globe for Best Performance by an Actor for his role in “The Theory of Everything” and also took home a BAFTAS Award for Best Leading Actor.
This is also Keaton’s first Academy Award nomination although he did win a Golden Globe for Best Performance by an Actor in a Motion Picture and he was nominated for a Golden Globe in 2003 for Best Performance by an Actor in a Mini-Series or a Motion Picture Made for Television for his work in “Live from Baghdad.”
