Best Picture Odds
HOLLYWOOD, CA (The Spread) – The Best Picture category at the 2013 Grammys has changed its odds dramatically as of late. Here is a look at the odds to win this prestigious category.
The Grammys take place this Sunday at 8PM ET and will air live on ABC. According to oddsmakers from Bovada.lv, Argo is the clear favorite to win this category, as it has 1/7 odds. Other short odds to win are Lincoln (5/1) and Silver Linings Playbook (33/1).
Argo is up for seven Oscars this year. It came into the nominations not the favorite, as it was original behind Lincoln. However, Argo won Best Picture in many of the other major award shows, including the Golden Globes and the British Academy Film Awards.
Lincoln leads all films with 12 Oscar nominations. Lincoln has won Movie of the Year in many award shows, but none with the cache like the Golden Globes. It appears the film has lost steam since the award season has begun.
Silver Linings Playbook is up for eight Oscars. It is the feel-good movie in this list of candidates. The movie has received a lot of critical praise and has a lot of nominations for acting, but it appears to be a major longshot to win on Sunday.
The 2013 Academy Awards take place on Sunday, Feb. 24 at 8PM ET from The Dolby Theatre in Hollywood on ABC. For a complete look at the odds to win Best Picture at this year’s show, see below.
