SOCHI, Russia (The Spread) – The Men’s Team Pursuit at the 2014 Olympics in speed skating appears to belong to one team. What are the odds for an upset?
According to oddsmakers from Bovada.lv, the Netherlands is the clear favorite to win, as it has 1/4 odds. Other short odds to win are the United States (4/1) and South Korea (11/1).
The Netherlands is already off to a fast start in Sochi, sweeping all three medals in the 5000 meter event. In 2010, Netherlands won the bronze in this event. Netherlands has won the world title in this event the last two years.
The United States won the silver medal at the 2010 games, but picked up the world title in 2011 and finished second in 2012.
South Korea popped on the scene at the 2013 world championship, earning a silver medal behind Netherlands.
