Record of the Year Odds
LOS ANGELES, CA (The Spread) – The Record of the Year category for the 2013 Grammys has three real contenders to win. Here is a look at the odds to take home this year’s award.
The Grammys take place this Sunday at 8PM ET and will air live on CBS. According to oddsmakers from Bovada.lv, the favorite in this category is Gotye, which has 5/4 odds for the record “Somebody That I Used To Know.” Other short odds to win are Fun (8/5) for their record “We Are Young,” and The Black Keys (11/2) for their record, “Lonely Boy.”
Gotye is nominated for three Grammys this year and is nominated for the first time in his music career. This record features Kimbra and it hit No. 1 in the U.S. Billboard chart and was also No. 1 in the UK. It finished the year as the top-selling record of 2012.
Fun is nominated for a total of six Grammys this year, including Album of the Year. This is the first year the band has been nominated for a Grammy. We Are Young hit No. 1 on the Billboard charts in many countries, including the UK and U.S. It finished the year as No. 3 in the U.S. top 100 singles of 2012.
The Black Keys are nominated for five Grammys this year, including Album of the Year. This band has already won three Grammys in their career, back in 2011. Lonely Boy hit No. 1 in the U.S. rock and alternative charts, but only peaked at 64 in the Billboard Hot 100 chart. It ended the year as the top single on the U.S. rock chart.
