Phoenix Open vs. SBXLIX Prop Bets
LAS VEGAS, NV (The Spread) – The PGA Phoenix Open continues this weekend and oddsmakers have put together cross-sports prop bets to go along with Super Bowl XLIX.
Will Tiger Woods have a better four-round average in the Phoenix Open this weekend than Rob Gronkowski will have total receiving yards in the Super Bowl? According to oddsmakers from online sportsbook BetDSI, Gronkowski is a 4.5-point favorite to rack up more yards than Woods’ four-round average at TPC Scottsdale this weekend. To clarify, if Gronkowski has 75 yards receiving and Woods shoots a 70, then Gronkowski will have cleared the 4.5 points and thus, covered the spread.
Continuing with the cross-sports odds, Woods is a 1.5-point favorite to have more total birdies in the Phoenix Open than Seahawks’ running back Marshawn Lynch will have total pass receptions. So if Woods finishes with three birdies and Lynch catches two passes, then Lynch would have covered the 1.5-point spread for the prop bet.
Phil Mickelson, meanwhile, is a 2.5-point favorite to have a higher score in the Phoenix Open than Patriots’ receiver Julian Edelman will have total receiving yards. Mickelson is also a pick’em to have more birdies this weekend than Seahawks’ wideout Doug Baldwin will have pass receptions.
Finally, Ben Watson is a 5.5-point underdog to finish with a longer drive in this weekend’s open than the New England Patriots will have total yards. So if Watson’s longest drive this weekend is 350 yards and the Patriots finish with 355 yards of offense, Watson will have covered the 5.5-point spread.
