LOS ANGELES, CA (TheSpread) – One of the major awards at the 2012 Grammys is the award for Best New Artist. Here is a look at the odds and nominees for this category.

According to Oddsmakers, the favorite to win this award is Nicki Minaj, as she has a money line of -140. Other nominees to win are Bon Iver (+275), The Band Perry (+300), J Cole (+750), and Skrillex (+1500).

Minaj is up for three awards this year including Best Rap Album and Best Rap Performance. Her Album, Pink Friday, went Platinum this past year and topped three different Billboard Album Charts.

Bon Iver is up for a number of big Grammy’s this year thanks to his self-titled release. His album hit No. 2 in the U.S. Billboard chart and was No. 1 in four different Billboard charts.

The Band Perry is a country music group made up of three siblings. Their self-titled debut album went Platinum this past year and was No. 2 in the U.S. Country Billboard chart.

J Cole is a rapper that released his album Cole World: The Sideline Story this past year. The album went Gold in the U.S. and topped three different Billboard charts, including the Billboard 200.

Skrillex is an electronic music producer. He released a number of extended plays over the last two years and has a studio album called Voltage coming out in 2012. His music has drawn great critical acclaim but there are not chart statistics to fall back on.

The 2012 Grammy Awards will take place at 8PM ET on Sunday, Feb. 12 from the Staples Center in Los Angeles. For complete odds on the Best New Artist, see below.
