According to oddsmakers from Bovada.lv, Anna Fenninger is favored to win gold, as she has 7/2 odds. Other short odds to win are Jessica Lindell-Vikarby (5/1) and Mikaela Shiffrin (6/1).

Fenninger competes for Austria and she is seeking her first Olympic medal after having a successful juniors career. She took third in the 2013 world championship for giant slalom and also finished third the last two years in the World Cup for giant slalom.

Vikarby competes for Sweden and she won a junior world title in giant slalom back in 2003. She has never won an Olympic medal or world title in the event, but she is coming off a win in a recent World Cup event in giant slalom.

Shiffrin competes for the United States and she really excels in slalom, but has not had a lot of titles in giant slalom. She is the 2013 world champion in slalom but her top World Cup finish for a season in giant slalom is just 19th. She has yet to claim a World Cup event victory in giant slalom.
