SOCHIA, Russia (The Spread) – The Women’s Ice Hockey event at the 2014 Olympics appears to be a battle between just two teams. Here is a look at the odds to win gold in this event.
According to oddsmakers from Bovada.lv, Canada is the favorite to win the gold, as it has 4/5 odds. Other shorts odds to win are the United States (1/1) and Finland (16/1).
Canada has won three of the four gold medals in the Olympics, including the last three. Canada has never finished worse than the silver in the Olympics.
The United States won the gold in 1998, and has since claimed two silvers and a bronze.
Finland has finished fourth or better in each Olympics in women’s hockey, taking the bronze in 2010 and 1998.
