BEVERLY HILLS, CA (TheSpread) – The Best Picture-Comedy or Musical category at the 2013 Golden Globes appears to be a slam dunk. Here is a look at the odds for this category.
According to oddsmakers at Bovada.lv, the overwhelming favorite to win this category is Les Miserables, which has odds of -2000. The only other film with reasonable betting odds is Silver Linings Playbook, which has odds of +600.
Les Miserables has a total of four Golden Globe nominations. This movie was directed by Tom Hooper and is based on the musical by the same name. The film stars the likes of Hugh Jackman, Russell Crowe and Anne Hathaway. It has been a critical success and has already grossed over $188 million and is still going strong at the box office.
Silver Linings Playbook has four nominations as well at the Globes. It is a romantic comedy/drama that was directed by David Russell and stars Bradley Cooper, Jennifer Lawrence and Robert De Niro. The film is about a man with bipolar disorder trying to get his life back in order when he encounters an odd relationship with a woman who is also dealing with her own issues.
The 2013 Golden Globes will be held Sunday, January 13 from the Beverly Hilton Hotel in Beverly Hills, California, and air live on NBC at 8PM ET.
