LSU Tigers 2015 college football playoff odds

LAS VEGAS, NV (The Spread) Will the quarterback position hold LSU back from competing for a national title in 2014-15?

View 2015 FBS Championship Odds

The Tigers lost a lot of marquee talent in the offseason, including starting quarterback Zach Mettenberger, who was drafted by the Tennessee Titans. Receivers Odell Beckham and Jarvis Landry are also off to the NFL, as well as running back Jeremy Hill, guard Trai Turner, safety Craig Loston and defensive tackles Ego Ferguson and Anthony Johnson.

The good news for LSU is that Turner is the only starter that won't return to the offensive line. Tackles La'el Collins and Jerald Hawkins are back, as well as interior linemen Vadal Alexander and Elliott Porter. Losing all of that skill position talent on offense will hurt, but at least the Tigers will be experienced in the trenches.

On defense there are holes to fill, especially along the interior of the defensive line. But defensive ends Jermauria Rasco and Danielle Hunter return, as well as linebackers Kwon Alexander and D.J. Welter. Both starting cornerbacks return from a year ago (Jalen Mills and Tre'Davious White), as well as safety Corey Thompson.

According to oddsmakers from online sports book Bovada.lv, LSU is 18/1 to win the 2015 college football FBS championship and has 5/2 odds to make the four-team playoff this season. The key to the Tigers' success might be young quarterback Anthony

2014 college football playoff odds UCLA Bruins Brett Hundley

LAS VEGAS, NV (The Spread) With Brett Hundley back under center, will UCLA make a serious run at the 2015 FBS title this season?

View 2015 FBS Championship Odds

Hundley is coming off a fantastic seasons and should have UCLA competing for the Pac-12 title this season, as well as a final four playoff berth. He'll have help too, as Paul Perkins, Jordan Payton, Devin Lucien and Thomas Duarte all return to their respective skill positions.

Of course, there's good news and bad news when it comes to the offensive line. The good news is that all five starters Simon Goines, Scott Quessenberry, Jake Brendel, Alex Redmond and Caleb Benenoch return. The bad news is that this same group had its hands full a year ago protecting Hundley in the pocket. The hope is that with a year under its belt that chemistry and cohesion won't be an issue.

Defensively, UCLA returns seven starters including 2013 All-Conference linebacker Myles Jack, who is a jack of all trades (no pun intended) for coach Jim Mora. The entire secondary returns as well, as cornerbacks Fabian Moreau and Ishmael Adams, as

Georgia Bulldogs college football playoff odds betting

LAS VEGAS, NV (The Spread) With all 11 starters returning on defense, can Georgia make a run at a national title in 2014?

View 2015 FBS Championship Odds

As previously mentioned, the Bulldogs will bring back all 11 starters on defense this season, including 2013 All-Conference inside linebacker Ramik Wilson. He'll also have his 'backer mates Leonard Floyd, Amarlo Herrera and Jordan Jenkins by his side, as well as sterling Bailey, Ray Drew and Chris Mayes taking on blockers in front of him. The entire secondary also returns, including cornerback Shaq Wiggins and free safety Tray Matthews.

The big question marks are on offense as Hutson Mason will be tasked with replacing Aaron Murray, who was drafted into the NFL back in May. While Mason will benefit from the return of 2013 All-Conference running back Todd Gurley and receivers Michael Bennett and Chris Conley, only two starters return along the offensive line.

Despite the concerns under center and along the O-line, Georgia is 16/1 to win the college football FBS championship according to oddsmakers from online sports book BetDSI. That puts the Bulldogs behind only six teams, including title favorites Florida State (11/2), Alabama (6/1), Oregon (8/1), Auburn (9/1), Ohio State (10/1) and Oklahoma (12/1).

Mason waited patiently behind Murray for three years so you know he's chomping at the bit to show Mark Richt and his coaching staff what he can do. Led by

Oklahoma Sooners college football playoff odds trends

LAS VEGAS, NV (The Spread) The Oklahoma Sooners will head into the 2014 college football season with the best odds to win the 2015 FBS title among Big 12 teams.

View 2015 FBS Title Odds

According to oddsmakers from online sports book BetDSI, the Sooners are currently 12/1 to win the 2015 FBS college football championship. As previously mentioned, those odds are the best among the Big 12 teams and sixth-best overall behind Florida State (11/2), Alabama (6/1), Oregon (8/1), Auburn (9/1) and Ohio State (10/1).

The Sooners return seven starters on offense including quarterback Trevor Knight, who was highly impressive in the team's bowl win against Alabama last season. Oklahoma also returns four of five starters along the offensive line including both tackles (Tyrus Thompson and Daryl Williams) and both guards (Adam Shead and Nila Kasitati). Thanks to players like Williams, OU's offensive line is a definite strength, even though the unit did lose All-American center Gabe Ikard.

Oklahoma will also be loaded in the trenches on the other side of the ball, as Chuka Ndulue, Jordan Wade and 2013 All-Conference defensive end Charles Tapper return up front. In fact, the front seven returns all seven starters, including linebackers Dominique Alexander, Frank Shannon and Eric Striker. The question mark might be in the secondary as the team has to replace two starters.

The other issues surrounding this team are at running back and

2015 college football FBS championship odds Ohio State Buckeyes

LAS VEGAS, NV (The Spread) If the odds are any indication, the Ohio State Buckeyes should compete for the 2015 FBS Championship this season.

View 2015 FBS Championship Odds

According to oddsmakers from online sports book BetDSI, the Buckeyes currently have 10/1 odds to win the 2014-15 College Football FBS Championship. Florida State remains favored to defend its title at 11/2, while Alabama is 6/1 and Oregon is 8/1. Auburn, which fell to FSU in last year's BCS championship, is currently 9/1 to win this year.

Returning to Ohio State's offense this year is 2013 All-Conference quarterback Braxton Miller, who, if he can stay healthy, has a chance to win the Heisman Trophy. Receivers Evan Spencer and Devin Smith also return, as well as tight end Jeff Heuerman.

The problem offensively for the Buckeyes is that they had to replace four offensive linemen during the offseason as only OT Taylor Decker returns. While coach Urban Meyer is a skilled recruiter, that's a lot of turnover in one offseason for one of the most important units in football.

At least OSU will be

Auburn Tigers college football 2015 championship odds

LAS VEGAS, NV (The Spread) Despite suffering some key losses in the offseason, Auburn remains loaded and ready to make a run at the college football playoffs.

View 2015 FBS Championship Odds

Auburn lost a handful of players to the NFL in May, including running back Tre Mason and bruising offensive tackle Greg Robinson. On defense, the team saw Dee Ford, Nosa Eguae and Chris Davis head for the NFL.

That said, Robinson is the only player on the offensive line that won't return. Alex Kozan, Chad Slade, Avery Young and 2013 All-American center Reese Dismukes all return to an offensive line that will be in charge of opening holes for Cameron Artis-Payne and Corey Grant, as well as protecting Nick Marshall. 2013 All-Conference tight end C.J. Uzomah also returns, as well as receiver Ricardo Louis and Sammie Coates.

On defense the Tigers return seven starters including star Robenson Therezie. Three out of four starters from the defensive back also return, including Jonathon Mincy, Joshua Hosley and Jermaine Whitehead. The key is that with a year of experience in Ellis Johnson's scheme, this Auburn defense should be even

Oregon Ducks 2015 FBS college football playoff odds

LAS VEGAS, NV (The Spread) The Oregon Ducks have great odds to win the 2015 FBS Championship but can they finally get over the hump?

View 2015 FBS Championship Odds

According to oddsmakers from online sports book BetDSI, the Ducks are 8/1 to win the 2015 college football FBS Championship. Their odds place them third behind only defending champion Florida State (11/2) and Alabama (6/1). Auburn is also 9/1 to win next season's title, while Ohio State is 10/1 and Oklahoma is 12/1.

The Ducks lost some key talent to the NFL in the offseason, including receiver Josh Huff, running back/receiver De'Anthony Thomas and tight end Colt Lyera. Fortunately, Oregon recruits well every year and won't have any issues putting up points in 2014-15.

In fact, Oregon returns 10 of 11 starters on offense for 2014, including 2013 All-Conference signal-caller Marcus Mariota and the entire offensive line from last year. Coupled with Mariota's dynamic ability, the running back duo of Byron Marshall and Thomas Tyner will give opponents fits this upcoming season.

On defense, 2013 All-American cornerback Ifo Ekpre-Olomu returns after an outstanding

2014 college football playoff odds Alabama Crimson Tide football betting

LAS VEGAS, NV (The Spread) After failing to reach the title game for the first time in three years, will Alabama make a run at the 2014-15 FBS championship?

According to oddsmakers from online sports book BetDSI, the Crimson Tide currently have 6/1 odds to win the 2014-15 college football FBS championship. Those odds are second-best to only Florida State, who is 11/2 to win this season's title. Alabama is also 11/10 to make the four-team playoff this year and has 2/3 odds to miss the postseason altogether.

If the Crimson Tide is going to make a run at the postseason and, eventually, a title, then it'll need to overcome a couple of key offseason losses. On offense, gone are national championship-winning quarterback AJ McCarron, receiver Kevin Norwood and offensive tackle Cyrus Kouandjio. 2013 All-Conference running back T.J. Yeldon and receiver Christion Jones return, but it'll be up to Blake Sims at quarterback to ensure that the offense doesn't suffer any setbacks now that McCarron is a Cincinnati Bengal. 'Bama also needs to replace two starters on the offensive line.

On defense Nick Saban lost middle linebacker C.J. Mosley, safety Ha Ha Clinton-Dix and safety Vinnie Sunseri, who was essentially a coach on the field as much as he was a steady player. Linebacker Trey DePriest returns, as does fellow 2013 All-Conference safety Landon Collins. But as a whole,

Florida State Seminoles 2014 preview odds college football playoffs Jameis Winston

LAS VEGAS, NV (The Spread) While they enter the season with a few question marks, Florida State remains favored to win this year's NCAA title.

View 2015 FBS Championship Odds

According to oddsmakers from online sports book BetDSI, the Seminoles are currently 11/2 to win this year's college football FBS championship and defend its 2013-14 title. Alabama has comparable odds at 6/1, while Oregon is 8/1 and Auburn, the team FSU beat in the last BCS national championship game, is currently 9/1 to win this season's title.

Florida State will return seven starters from last year's squad, including the best player in college football at quarterback. Jameis Winston, the reigning Heisman Trophy winner, is back under center and will have four starters returning to the offensive line that protected him a year ago. While the Seminoles lost running backs Devonta Freeman and James Wilder and receiver Kelvin Benjamin, 2013 All-Americans Winston and Cameron Erving return, as well as 2013 All-Conference players Rashad Greene, Nick O'Leary and Tre' Jackson.

On defense, FSU lost linebackers Christian Jones, Dan Hicks and Telvin Smith, as well as defensive tackle Timmy Jernigan and defensive backs Terrence Brooks and Lamarcus Joyner. That's a lot of talent to lose to the NFL but seven other starters return to a defensive unit that was outstanding in 2013, including defensive end Mario Edwards.

Florida Gators college football playoff odds betting

LAS VEGAS, NV (The Spread) Will the Florida Gators make the four-team playoff field in college football for the 2014-15 season? The odds suggest no.

View FBS Championship Odds

According to oddsmakers from online sports book Bovada.lv, Florida's odds have making the playoffs are currently 6/1 and their odds of missing the postseason altogether are 1/10. The Gators are also long shots to win the 2014-15 FBS Championship at 40/1, which gives them the same odds as Michigan, Ole Miss, Notre Dame and Texas.

The Gators will return six starters on offense, including running back Kelvin Taylor, wideout Quinton Dunbar and tight end Clay Burton. Three starters along the offensive line also return, including left tackle D.J. Humphries, left guard Tyler Moore and center Max Garcia. Quarterback Jeff Driskel also returns after a broken leg ended his 2013 season. He should be a better fit in the team's new spread offense.

On defense the Gators will bring back the starting defensive line of Dante Fowler Jr., Leon Orr, Darious Cummings and Jonathan Bullard. Two of the starting three linebackers from a year ago are also back, including Antonio Morrison and Michael Taylor. The good news in the secondary is that cornerback Vernon Hargreaves III returns. The bad news is that the other three positions in the secondary will feature new faces.
