PHILADELPHIA (AP) -The Flyers traded to get defenseman Jim Vandermeer from Chicago on Tuesday night, sending left wing Ben Eager to the Blackhawks.
The 27-year-old Vandermeer had two goals, seven assists and 44 penalty minutes in 26 games for the Blackhawks this season.
He's rejoining the Flyers, who traded him to Chicago as part of a deal that brought Alex Zhamnov to Philadelphia in February 2004.
Eager, 23, was a first-round draft pick in 2002, by Phoenix. He is scoreless with 62 penalty minutes in 23 games for the Flyers this season.
