ST. PAUL, Minn. (AP) -Marian Gaborik is set to return to the Minnesota Wild.
The star right wing says he’s planning to play Wednesday night at Xcel Energy Center against the Calgary Flames. Gaborik suffered an unspecified injury to his lower body and has missed the last 27 games since appearing on Oct. 14.
Coach Jacques Lemaire has left the decision to Gaborik, who skated on a line with James Sheppard and Stephane Veilleux (stef-AWN’ vay-OOH’) during Tuesday’s practice.
The spirited workout lasted more than 90 minutes, and Gaborik was drenched in sweat. But he said he felt good on his skates and that he’ll “more than likely” be ready to face the Flames.
The Wild have lost five straight games.
