SAN JOSE, Calif. (AP) -The San Jose Sharks put defenseman Alexei Semenov on injured reserve Friday because of a broken finger on his right hand.
Semenov was hurt early in the Sharks’ 5-2 victory over the Vancouver Canucks on Thursday night. He left the locker room with a heavy wrap on his right hand, particularly the last two fingers.
The 6-foot-6 Russian defenseman has one goal and two assists in 13 games since signing with the Sharks in the offseason. San Jose, which already has forwards Jonathan Cheechoo and Jeremy Roenick on injured reserve, didn’t announce a roster move to fill Semenov’s spot.
