PHILADELPHIA (AP) -The Dallas Stars acquired defenseman Jussi Timonen from the Philadelphia Flyers on Monday for an conditional draft pick in 2009.
Timonen had seven assists in 14 games with the Flyers' American Hockey League affiliate Philadelphia Phantoms this season. He had four assists and six penalty minutes in 14 games for the Flyers last season.
``With the Phantoms having two defensemen coming back from injury, we will have a logjam on defense,'' Flyers general manager Paul Holmgren said. ``This will give Jussi an opportunity to play.''
