UNIONDALE, N.Y. (AP) -Danny Briere left the Philadelphia Flyers’ game against the New York Islanders in the second period and didn’t return because of an unspecified lower body injury Tuesday.
Briere gave Philadelphia a 1-0 lead with 6:20 left in the period, but didn’t make it back to the ice following his arm-pump celebration. It was the forward’s second game back in the lineup after he missed six following abdominal surgery.
He scored in both games following the operation and has five in eight contests overall this season, his second with the Flyers. Briere has goals in four straight games, dating to a two-goal effort at San Jose on Oct. 18.
