COLUMBUS, Ohio (AP) -The Blue Jackets recalled goalie Dan LaCosta on an emergency basis from Syracuse of the AHL on Sunday and sent down defenseman Kris Russell.
LaCosta stopped 15 of 17 shots in 35 minutes in relief of Fredrik Norrena at Nashville on Oct. 18 in his only action this season with the Blue Jackets. He is 5-0 with a 2.08 goals-against average in five games with the Crunch.
Russell has one assist in five games with Columbus. He has posted two goals and nine assists in 72 career games.
