-Dustin Penner, Oilers, got his second goal of the game with 5.4 seconds left to give Edmonton a 3-2 victory over Colorado.
-Shane Doan and Ilya Bryzgalov, Coyotes. Doan scored twice and Bryzgalov stopped 33 shots against his former team in a 4-2 victory at Anaheim.
PENALTY SHOTS
Colorado’s Milan Hedjuk improved to 3-for-3 on penalty shots in his career, beating Edmonton’s Mathieu Garon stickside midway through the third period of the Oilers’ 3-2 victory. Hejduk, who tied the score at 2-2, got the opportunity when the Oilers were called for closing a hand on the puck in the crease.

Rob Blake returned to play in Los Angeles for the first time since signing with San Jose as a free agent this summer and was greeted with boos whenever he touched the puck Sunday during the Sharks’ 1-0 victory. Blake skated for the Kings in 14 of his 19 NHL seasons – including the last two – and is the franchise leader in games played by a defenseman. … Coyotes goalie Ilya Bryzgalov had 33 saves against his former team in a 4-2 victory at Anaheim, improving to 4-1-1 against the Ducks.

Anaheim center Rob Niedermayer left Sunday’s loss to Phoenix in the first period due to a bruised leg. … Kings defenseman Jack Johnson suffered an “upper extremity” injury in the first period of a 1-0 loss to San Jose. Johnson left the game after skating one shift in the second period.
