WINNIPEG, Manitoba (AP) Edmonton had to sit through a two-hour delay due to melting ice in the outdoor game at Winnipeg, and then recorded a 3-0 win over the Jets on Sunday.
Cam Talbot made 31 saves and the Oilers scored all their goals in the second quarter to continue a strong start to the season that sees them top of the Pacific Division with five wins from six games.
Elsewhere, New York’s John Tavares scored two goals and set up another as the Islanders defeated Minnesota, while their rival New York Rangers edged Arizona and Anaheim downed Vancouver.
