EDMONTON, Alberta (AP) -The Edmonton Oilers placed defenseman Sheldon Souray on the injured list with a sprained left shoulder and recalled Ladislav Smid on Wednesday.
Souray has missed three games since being injured against Vancouver on Oct. 13. He is expected to be out two more weeks. He had a goal and an assist in six games.
Smid had a goal and four assists in eight games for the American Hockey League’s Springfield Falcons. He played 77 games for Edmonton last season and had three goals and 10 assists.
