BOSTON (AP) -The Bruins moved up the start time of Saturday's home game against the Philadelphia Flyers by three hours to avoid a conflict with Game 3 of the World Series between the Boston Red Sox and Colorado Rockies.
The Bruins and Flyers were originally scheduled to play at 7 p.m., 90 minutes before the World Series game was slated to start in Denver. The puck will now drop at 4 p.m., the Bruins said Tuesday.
``Being able to watch the Bruins on Saturday afternoon without missing a pitch of Game Three is a win-win situation for everyone involved,'' Bruins executive vice president Charlie Jacobs said.
The club made a similar move this past Saturday, when the Bruins hosted the New York Rangers, so fans would be able to watch or attend Game 6 of the A.L. championship series between the Red Sox and Cleveland Indians in Boston.
The Bruins' home game on Thursday against the Chicago Blackhawks will take place as scheduled at 7 p.m. The Rockies and Red Sox will be playing Game 2 of the World Series across town at Fenway Park at 8:35 p.m.
