SCRUMPTIOUS MEAL
Dallas Stars forward Sean Avery didn't do much on the scoresheet in his return to New York to face the Rangers. However he did promise to take his temmates out to dinner after the Stars 2-1 victory. ``It was good motivation for us all,'' Stars captain Brenden Morrow said of the impending victory meal. ``He's making friends.''

SPEAKING
``I've got to get the Swede. When I first got here a long time ago, I'd look at the names on the wall and the Stanley Cups, but I was just trying to make the team. Now, 13 years later, it's hard to believe I'm getting close to the top 10.'' - Montreal's Saku Koivu after scoring his 600th career point to move him within 12 points of Mats Naslund for 11th place on the franchise list and first among the club's Europeans.
