COLUMBUS, Ohio (AP) -The Columbus Blue Jackets placed forward Jared Boll on injured reserve Wednesday because of a head injury and recalled forward Nikita Filatov from Syracuse of the American Hockey League.
Boll has 11 penalty minutes in three games this season after finishing with five goals, five assists and a team-high 226 penalty minutes in 75 games as a rookie in 2007-08. He is expected to be sidelined seven to 10 days.
Filatov was Columbus' first-round pick and No. 6 overall in last summer's draft and scored goals in each of the first two games at Syracuse. He had a goal and a shootout winner in two preseason games with the Blue Jackets this season.
