ST. PAUL, Minn. (AP) -The Minnesota Wild have placed forward Cal Clutterbuck on injured reserve with a sprained left ankle.
Clutterbuck was injured at San Jose on Saturday. He flew back to Minnesota on Tuesday for an MRI exam and could miss several weeks. It’s a big blow for an already banged-up team. Clutterbuck led the NHL in hits last season and is one of the team’s biggest energy players.
Center Pierre-Marc Bouchard is out indefinitely with a concussion. Left wing Petr Sykora has a sore groin and is listed as doubtful for the game Wednesday at Anaheim, meaning the team’s entire second line is out of action.
The Wild recalled forwards Andy Hilbert and Nathan Smith from Houston on Wednesday for some more manpower.
