VANCOUVER, British Columbia (AP) -The Vancouver Canucks and coach Alain Vigneault agreed to a three-year contract extension.
The Canucks announced the deal Thursday, which keeps Vigneault with the team through the 2012-13 season.
Vigneault led the Canucks to a 133-86-27 record in his first three seasons behind the bench. He guided the team to a franchise-record 49-26-7 record in 2007.
The 48-year-old Vigneault ranks fourth in Canucks’ history for coaching wins. His .595 winning percentage is the best in the team’s 39-year history.
