BUFFALO, N.Y. (AP) – The Buffalo Sabres are eager to start fresh after one of the worst seasons in franchise history.
The Sabres reported for training camp Thursday with new players after adding several veterans in free agency and drafting Sam Reinhart with the No. 2 pick.
Coach Ted Nolan has brought in a new staff of assistants, and general manager Tim Murray has shuffled the hockey department. It’s part of the changes since Nolan and Murray took over midway through last season.
The Sabres (21-51-10) have spent much of the offseason rebuilding after finishing last in the standings and setting a franchise record for losses.
