COLUMBUS, Ohio (AP) – The Columbus Blue Jackets and Cleveland Indians are teaming up to boost fan interest during the recession.
The two Ohio professional teams on Tuesday unveiled a plan to share advertising and promote special ticket offers.
To kick off the partnership, the Blue Jackets will have an inflatable slap shot cage and special giveaways at the Indians-Mariners game in Cleveland on Sunday.
The Indians already this summer entered a joint arrangement with the Cleveland Browns to sell luxury suite packages. Indians owner Paul Dolan said earlier this month that the club will lose $16 million this season and that the team will need to borrow money over the next few years.
