BOSTON (AP) -The Bruins signed defenseman Dennis Wideman to a multiyear contract extension on Wednesday.
Wideman had career bests last season with 13 goals and 23 assists in 81 games with Boston. He was the No. 2 scoring defenseman to captain Zdeno Chara and sixth overall on the team.
He had three assists in six playoff games for the Bruins last season.
