FRISCO, Texas (AP) -The Dallas Stars signed defenseman Ivan Vishnevskiy, the club's first-round pick in the 2006 draft, to a three-year contract on Wednesday.
Vishnevskiy, the No. 27th overall pick, has spent the past two seasons with Rouyn-Noranda of the Quebec Major Junior Hockey League.
``Ivan has exhibited excellent offensive abilities from the blue line the last two seasons in the Quebec junior league and we look forward to his continued development in our organization,'' Stars general manager Doug Armstrong said.
