GLENDALE, Ariz. (AP) -The Phoenix Coyotes signed center Peter Mueller, their top draft pick of 2006, to an entry-level contract Thursday. Mueller, 19, got a three-year deal for $850,000 per season. The No. 8 overall pick in last year's draft, Mueller was the Western Hockey League rookie of the year for the 2005-06 season when he had 26 goals and 32 assists in 52 games for Everett. Last season for Everett, he posted 21 goals and 57 assists in 51 games. Mueller, a native of Bloomington, Minn., also played on Team USA's bronze medal-winning team at this year's world junior championship. |
