RALEIGH, N.C. (AP) -The Carolina Hurricanes agreed to terms with defenseman Dennis Seidenberg on a one-year, $1.2 million contract Monday.
The 26-year-old Seidenberg was a restricted free agent. He played 47 games with Carolina last year, finishing with a career-high 15 assists while posting a plus-6 rating.
The move was the latest as the Hurricanes try to shore up a blue line plagued by spotty play last season. Already this offseason, they have traded for Joni Pitkanen and signed Josef Melichar while agreeing to a new deal with Tim Gleason.
The team also said that restricted free agent Chad LaRose is filing for salary arbitration. LaRose made $500,000 last year.
