UNIONDALE, N.Y. (AP) -The New York Islanders have signed veteran left wing Ruslan Fedotenko to a $2.9-million, one-year deal.
The 28-year-old had 32 points in 80 games with the Tampa Bay Lightning last season. In 2004, he scored 12 goals in 22 playoff games, including both goals in the Lightning’s 2-1 win over Calgary in Game 7 of the Stanley Cup final.
“Last season was a disappointment for me, and I’m determined to show the Islanders and our fans what I can do,” Fedotenko said in a statement issued by the Islanders. “We have a very good team of talented young players and experienced guys, and I really like Ted Nolan’s style of play.”
