BOSTON (AP) - The Chicago Blackhawks scored goals 17 seconds apart in the final minutes to capture their second Stanley Cup in four seasons. The improbable rally led to a wild on-ice celebration as Chicago outlasted the Boston Bruins in six games.
Bryan Bickell scored with 1:16 remaining to tie it and Dave Bolland scored with 59 seconds left to win it.
The Hawks withstood the Bruins' final push and surged over the boards, throwing their sticks and gloves across the ice. Chicago captain Jonathan Toews, who scored earlier in the game, was summoned to center ice by NHL Commissioner Gary Bettman to accept one of the more hallowed trophies in sports.
``I still can't believe that finish,'' Blackhawks goalie Corey Crawford said. ``Oh my God, we never quit.''
The sold-out TD Garden was almost empty - except for a few hundred fans in red Blackhawks jerseys who filtered down to the front rows - when the Chicago players passed the 35-pound Cup around the ice.
Patrick Kane, who scored the winning goal in 2010 to lift the Blackhawks to their first championship since 1961, was voted the Conn Smythe Trophy winner as playoffs MVP.
