PHILADELPHIA (AP) -The Philadelphia Flyers on Tuesday acquired defenseman Janne Niskala from the Nashville Predators for forward Triston Grant and a seventh-round pick in the 2009 draft.
The 26-year-old Niskala was a fifth-round pick by the Predators in the 2004 draft and had 19 goals and 44 points last year for their American Hockey League affiliate, the Milwaukee Admirals.
Niskala also played parts of the previous seven seasons with teams in top European Leagues.
Grant had 21 points for the AHL's Philadelphia Phantoms last season.
