RALEIGH, N.C. (AP) -The Carolina Hurricanes signed a five-year lease extension that will run through 2025.
Hurricanes General Manager Jim Rutherford said the extension announced Friday demonstrates the owners of the RBC Center have confidence in hockey’s future in Raleigh.
The authority that owns the RBC Center said it agreed to financial provisions to help the arena management contractor pay for rising operating costs, including terrorism insurance.
The authority said North Carolina State, which uses the arena for basketball games, had negotiated upgrades to the basketball facilities and parking lot. The school also will have more input on improvements.
