PITTSBURGH (AP) -Crowds of jubilant people dressed in black and gold are on the streets of Pittsburgh celebrating the Penguins’ Stanley Cup title.
The Penguins beat the defending champion Detroit Red Wings 2-1 on Friday night in Game 7 to win the Cup for the third time.
Drivers are honking their horns in reaction to the fans’ shouts of “Go, Penguins!”
There have been no immediate signs of the fan reaction turning too rowdy, but police have made plans in case things get out of control. Police made more than 80 arrests during spontaneous street celebrations following the Pittsburgh Steelers’ Super Bowl victory in February.
