ST. PAUL, Minn. (AP) -New Minnesota Wild general manager Chuck Fletcher plans to keep assistant general manager Tom Lynn in place.
Fletcher said Friday at his introductory news conference he would meet with the existing front office and hockey operations staff before making any changes. But Lynn said later in an e-mail that Fletcher told him he wants him to continue in his role.
Lynn has been with the team since it entered the league nine years ago. He interviewed with owner Craig Leipold to replace Doug Risebrough as general manager, but the job went to Fletcher.
Lynn was the primary negotiator of player contracts under Risebrough. He also runs the Wild’s top farm club, the Houston Aeros in the American Hockey League.
