NEW YORK (AP) -The Stanley Cup finals will begin May 28 at the home of the Western Conference champion.
The Anaheim Ducks led 3-2 in the Western Conference finals, and were to host Game 6 Tuesday night against the Detroit Red Wings. The winner of that series will play Ottawa, which eliminated Buffalo in five games.
The NHL said Tuesday that the Western Conference champion will have home-ice advantage, hosting Games 1, 2 and, if necessary, Games 5 and 7. The Senators will host Games 3, 4 and, if necessary, Game 6.
The start time for all Stanley Cup finals games will be 8 p.m. EDT.
