ST. PAUL, Minn. (AP) -Marian Gaborik has a hip injury that will keep him from playing in the World Championships for Slovakia this summer.
The Minnesota Wild said Thursday its star right wing will undergo further medical consultation before a decision is made on how to treat the injury.
The Wild issued a brief news release Thursday afternoon that revealed Gaborik has a “hip deficiency attributable to overuse.”
After a career-best 42 goals during the regular season, Gaborik did not score in the first-round playoff series against the Colorado Avalanche. He is entering the final year of his contract.
